Two exciting new trailers dropped today for films exploring a similar theme of friendship, and when you see who the stars are you won’t want to miss them!
The new Andrew DeYoung comedy Friendship, stars Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson. Robinson plays a suburban dad whose world gets a quirky shake-up after befriending his mysterious new neighbour, played by Rudd. The film also features Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, Josh Segarra, and Billy Bryk in supporting roles. It premiered in Toronto last year, earning impressive reviews.
The trailer for “The Friend” features Bill Murray and Naomi Watts. Directed by David Siegel and Scott McGehee (The Deep End, Bee Season), this adaptation of the bestselling novel sees Watts’ character Iris grappling with life changes after inheriting her late mentor Walter’s (Murray) beloved Great Dane, Apollo. A star-studded cast—including Sarah Pidgeon, Carla Gugino, Constance Wu, Ann Dowd, and many more—rounds out this heartwarming story. The Friend has also done a festival run and arrive in cinemas with more availability in April.
Friendship is the theme for the beginning of 2025 and these are two films that promise laughs, heart, and plenty of charm, so keep an eye out for them at the local cinema.
