A woman’s been arrested after allegedly approaching police while armed with a knife.
Police were called to the Esplanade around 1.30pm yesterday, following reports of a woman carrying a knife.
She allegedly approached the officers, originally ignoring commands to drop the knife, before surrendering the weapon.

A 48-year-old Parramatta Park woman was taken into custody at the scene, and no one was injured.
She has been charged with one count of serious assault police officer whilst armed with a weapon.
Her bail was denied, and she was due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today.
