FNQ Football strives to be the leading sporting organisation in Far North Queensland so that football becomes the first choice code for all.
Football Queensland FNQ Ltd trading as FNQ Football is the administrative body governing Football in Far North Queensland, Australia.
The company is managed by full-time staff under the direction of an independent volunteer board of directors. The board consists of local business owners and industry professionals who all have a passion for sport, management and community.
Football Queensland FNQ Ltd was established in 2016 becoming fully operational in 2017 following the appointment of a new General Manager. Previous entities managing football in the far north Queensland region include Far North Queensland Soccer Zone Inc., Cairns District Soccer Association, Tablelands Junior Soccer Association and Johnstone River Soccer Association.
The region of FNQ Football covers the cities and townships from Tully in the south through to Innisfail, west to Atherton, Malanda, Dimbulah and Mareeba, throughout the city of Cairns and north to Port Douglas and includes the remote township of Weipa. FNQ Football also licenses competition administrators to manage junior football competitions in Johnstone River and Tablelands districts.
Local clubs affiliate with FNQ Football to participate in competitions each year and representatives of each club work with management to develop the game across the region.
FNQ Football and Competition Administrators are also responsible for ensuring that FOOTBALL FEDERATION AUSTRALIA MEMBER FEDERATION CHARTER is adhered to in all aspects of football under its control on behalf of the FFA and FQ.
